A bittering/aroma type cultivar, bred in 1980 at Hll, the German Hop Research Institute. It was bred from the American variety Galena with a German male hop (75/5/3). With an alpha acid typically around 11-16%, Hop Head Farms' Magnum hop is bitter with a clean flavor and aroma profile. From Hop Head Farms: The German hop farmer, Josef, who came to the farm this year to instruct us on drying techniques selected the day to pick the Magnum: HHFs favorite bittering hop. Crop Year 2013.
